Today I started training for my Building Supervisor position at the Fairview Park Recreation Department (Gemini Center). The set-up of the recreation center is very spread-out. When you walk in, to the right are three large banquet rooms. These rooms host about 80-85 people and have dividers that can allow all three rooms to be connected. To the left, you first approach the locker rooms and the pool areas. There are two pools in the Gemini Center: competition pool and a leisure side. Continuing down the hallway, you will see a Kids Club (where young children are watched while parents take a class/workout) and a few different studios. There are 4 studios in the recreation center used for group classes such as spinning, yoga, Zumba, TRX, etc. You will finally approach the concessions area where children can hang out and have snacks. To the right of the concession area are two full-size basketball courts with a few bleachers and six baskets per hoop. There is also a smaller, gym for baseball, volleyball and soccer called the Multi-purpose gym. You may be wondering where the fitness station is? It’s not a fitness station, but a fitness floor. The entire second floor is dedicated to fitness. There is every type of equipment that you could imagine with a track around it; there is even something to do in every corner to improve one’s fitness.
