Hello, my name is Elyse Corridoni. I grew up in Lakewood, OH a suburb of Cleveland. I have always been interested in sports. Unfortunately, at a young age I learned that I was not very good at playing sports. I decided that if I cannot play them, maybe I can manage them one day.
I studied sports management at Tiffin University and received my Bachelor’s degree. After graduation, I worked at TU along with a local newspaper as a sports writer. After almost a year with the paper, I realized that as much as I loved it, I missed the city. I found a job with a marketing firm ans moved to Garfield Heights, OH.
I have been working with this firm in a few different positions since May 2015. Since I have started, I expanded my portfolio greatly throughout my organization’s other offices throughout the U.S. Before moving back to Cleveland, I had sent my resume to every recreation department in the surrounding Cleveland area. In late August, I got a call from the Fairview Park Recreation Department about a part-time position and I did not let the opportunity pass. I have been working there since October and you will hear all about my experience there in my Journals Section.
What does the future hold for me? To be honest, I’m not sure. I am growing my network within my current profession and working hard to make my company successful. While my full-time position is not in the sports industry, that does not mean that I have given up on this path.
